Argentine charge d’affaires summoned to Foreign Minsitry

Argentine Charge D’Affaires to Tehran Mario Enrique Quinteros was summoned to Foreign Ministry on Monday to be informed of Iran’s protest at Argentine’s recent anti-Iran stance.

In the meeting, head of the Second South America Office in the Foreign Ministry called Argentine Foreign Ministry's statement as an instance of intervention in Iran's internal affairs and strongly condemned it.

He said that unfortunately some people and groups in Argentine, especially the country’s judicial system, defend the interests of the Zionists rather than Argentine's.

He referred to some cases of corruption in Argentine judiciary and said efforts by certain people and groups in the country’s judicial system to divert AMIA case from its right course by paying bribes, forging documents and deceiving public opinion are truely insults to the Argentine nation.

He said that’s right of the Argentine nation to have a sound judicial system.

The Argentine charge d’affaires said he would promptly inform Argentine Foreign Ministry of Iran’s protest.

Argentine Judge Rodolfo Canicoba Corral once issued warrants of arrest for a number of former Iranian officials for alleged involvement in the 1994 bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish community center.

The seven-story Argentine-Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) building, a symbol of the country's Jewish community, was destroyed by a bomb on July 18, 1994 which left 85 dead and more than 200 injured.

Iran has refuted all accusations as baseless and unfounded.
