Envoy: Caracas willing to have best relations with neighbors

Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran, David Velasquez Caraballo said here Tuesday that Caracas has never been willing to have the least problem with any of its neighbors, while being fully prepared to thwart likely attacks or agressions.

Speaking at a ceremony commemorating Simon Bolivar and the 5th anniversary of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s victory, Caraballo said that August 15, 2004, marks a great victory in the Venezuelan history and no Venezuelan will forget that.

He said the victory is a turning point in unity and independence of the Venezuelan people.

“Hugo Chavez will never be tolerate presence of imperialist forces in Latin America,” he added.

He then said the US wants to deprive Venezuela of its right to sovereignty and independence.

He added that military coup in Honduras is a blatant example of the US intervention in the world.

He emphasized that those behind the coup in Honduras entered the country with the US assistance and Colombia’s consent.

He then emphasized unity among Latin American states to counter the US conspiracies in the region.
