Laos and UK sign MoU to implement Prisoner Transfer Agreem ent
(KPL) A ceremony to sign the MoU to implement the UK-Laos Prisoner Transfer Agreement signed in London on 7 May, was held in Vientiane on 28 July between Mr. Phongsavat Boupha, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Chris Bryant , Foreign Office Minister of UK.
Attending at the signing ceremony were also senior officials from Laos and UK including UK ambassador to Laos.
The signing of the MoU was a part of efforts and co-operation between Laos UK governments to allow prisoners to serve their sentences in their homeland and receive visits from relatives and friends and access rehabilitation programmes in their home country.
