27 Lao people infected with A flu
(KPL) 21 people have been reported to infect with A/H1N1 flu, said Dr. Bounlay Phommasack, Director General of the National Emerging Infectious Disease Coordination Office (NEIDCO) on 15 July.
According to Dr. Bounlay, the transmission is 40% between people, age from 10-20 and 80% between 1-30 years old. In Vientiane Capital has now 17 cases of A/H1N1 flu, two cases in Vientiane province, six cases in Savannakhet and one case in Champassak and Luang Prabang provinces.Dr. Bounlay added that the main cause of A/H1N1 flu spread in Laos thanks to students, athletes and people who went to work abroad.
In order to prevent against bird flu and the A/H1N1 flu, Dr. Bounlay has asked all people who need to travel abroad to identify themselves and avoiding to travel to the risk countries.
