1.4 mln tourists from Kyrgyzstan visited Uzbekistan since beginning of year

Since the beginning of the year, 1.4 million tourists from Kyrgyzstan have visited Uzbekistan, the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan said.

According to the data, from January to August 2024, 5.04 million foreign citizens entered Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. Compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 16.7%, or 721 thousand people.

The country was also visited by citizens of Tajikistan (1.4 million people), Kazakhstan (1 million) and Russia (more than 5.3 million).

In 2023, Uzbekistan was visited by more than 1.6 million tourists from Kyrgyzstan.
