Iran wins world military games volleyball title

Iran's volleyball team was crowned champion in the 30th CISM World Military Volleyball Championships in Brazil.

The teams from Brazil and India stood second and third respectively.

Teams from ten countries participated in the CISM competitions.

Conseil International du Sport Militare (CISM) was established during a fencing championship in Nice by participants of the games (Belgium, Denmark, Luxemburg, Holland and France) on 18 February 1948.

It is one of the biggest sports organizations worldwide declaring “Friendship through Sport".

The Council is responsible for organizing various sports events for the military from 131 countries.

At the moment CISM groups 131 countries from five continents of the world.

The main aim of CISM is to unify armies of the world through sports games and to promote global peace.
