Malaysia's GSPP Nine-Member Delegation Attends Public Hearing On Palestine Issue At ICJ
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- A nine-member delegation from the Palestine Liberation Solidarity Coalition (GSPP) based in Malaysia today attended a public hearing to obtain an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the Palestine issue at The Hague, in the Netherlands.
The delegation comprising lawyers from the Malaysian Muslim Lawyers Association (PPMM) and I-Qanun was led by the Federal Territory Syarie Lawyers Association president Datuk Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar.
PPMM is also represented by Muhamad Hisham Marzuki, Muhammad Hariz Md Yusoff, Danial Farhan Zainul Rijal and Muhammad Aiman Muhammad Luthfi Amir, while I-Qanun is represented by Mohd Redza Khazale, Ramadan al-Din Azlan Khalili, Siti Nazatul Murnirah Mahadzir and Farzanah Selamat.
Zainul Rijal, in a statement today, said the three-hour hearing featured seven presenters before fifteen judges.
"In the hearing, it was submitted, among other things, that the Zionist Regime has openly violated international law. In international law, an occupation is temporary but the Zionist Regime wants the occupation to be permanent.
”A permanent occupation, there is annexation or colonisation that needs to be stopped immediately," he said.
