Bursa Malaysia Trends Higher At Mid-Morning
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia, the stock exchange of Malaysia, remained higher at mid-morning on Thursday amid continuous buying support in the market.
At 11.05 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) added 4.38 points to 1,517.49 from Wednesday’s close of 1,513.11.
The barometer index opened 0.08 a point higher at 1,513.19.
On the broader market, gainers surpassed decliners 398 to 295, while 383 counters were unchanged, 1,212 untraded and 10 others suspended.
Turnover amounted to 976.63 million units worth RM541.04 million (US$113.5 million).
Among the heavyweights, CIMB and Tenaga Nasional advanced 4.0 sen each to RM6.24 (US$1=RM4.76) and RM10.86, respectively, Public Bank and IHH Healthcare inched up 1.0 sen each to RM4.40 and RM6.15, respectively, while Maybank was flat at RM9.29.
As for the actives, Sarawak Cable added 1.5 sen to 14 sen, Reneuco inched up half-a-sen to 55 sen, Key Asic and TWL Holdings were flat at 5.0 sen and 4.0 sen, respectively, while Ucrest decreased half-a-sen to 12.5 sen.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index was 32.40 points higher at 11,256.38, the FBMT 100 Index increased 30.32 points to 10,922.52, the FBM 70 Index appreciated 37.08 points to 15,154.91, the FBM Emas Shariah Index advanced 30.08 points to 11,270.19 while the FBM ACE Index went down 2.49 points to 4,719.11.
Sector-wise, the Property Index rose 4.44 points to 903.86, the Plantation Index improved 24.26 points to 7,191.54, and the Energy Index added 3.94 points to 876.90.
The Financial Services Index jumped 32.50 points to 16,980.57, and the Industrial Products and Services Index gained 0.67 a point to 172.41.
