Iran's president urges Obama to change attitude
Tehran, June 25, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday urged US President Barrack Obama to change his attitude against Iran.
He made the remarks while inaugurating Mehr Petrochemical Complex in Assalouyeh, in southern Iran.
President Ahmadinejad called on President Obama not to repeat the policies of former US president George W Bush.
Praising the mass participation of Iranian people in the recent presidential elections, he said the Iranian nation has not forgotten the atmosphere of political campaign created by the arrogant mass media.
Some 40 million brave, aware and determined Iranians voted for independence and rule of justice, he said, adding that the Iranian nation presented a unique pattern to the world.
Referring to the hue and cry made by certain big powers, the president noted that such a move is stemmed from the danger the global arrogance felt.
Several leaders of Western states are faced with a fundamental question, he said, adding that they are under pressure by their peoples.
“Since their bullying systems are on the verge of collapse, they are angry and therefore accuse our nation of what they usually do,” the Iranian president reiterated.
They thought they could damage the sovereignty of the Iranian nation through their hue and cry as well as the media and propaganda wars, he said.
The question is that why Mr Obama who began his talks with the Iranian nation with the motto of change, reform and interaction, has been trapped by them and said things that previously the Bush administration used to say, President Ahmadinejad asked.
All 40 million Iranians who attended the election are angry with their policies and will resist against their bad behavior, he added.
He warned President Obama against repeating the route that had failed, stressing that the Iranian nation is interested in a world based on logic, justice, respect and constructive dialogue.
“We are ready for any circumstances, but we are interested in peace, friendship, justice and rule of law for all world nations,” the Iranian president said.
