Turmoil in Iran would only accomplish US evil designs: Columnist

Islamabad, June 25, IRNA – A well-reputed senior Pak columnist Irfan Siddiqui here Wednesday said turmoil in Iran would only accomplish evil designs of US against Islamic state.

Speaking to IRNA, the columnist added that the US has been conspiring against Iran and the present situation in Iran is created to damage the image of the country.
“I believe the scheme to destabilize Iran was formed two years back by the Bush administration, as millions of dollars were allocated to accomplish this evil design”, he said.
Irfan Siddiqui expressing his views said that there is a planed propaganda of western countries against Iran despite knowing the fact that election is an internal affair of Iran.
“I have been to Iran before elections and there was a hype created that Mir-Hossein Mousavi would win the election with a landslide”, stated the columnist.
He said that Mousavi had started claiming victory even before the polling was completed. “When Mousavi, lost the election the west had started pointing fingers over the credibility of elections results, the allegations of rigging are baseless”, he viewed.
Irfan Siddiqui believed that it is a long standing desire of US to weaken Iran and they have been plotting schemes against the country.
“The latest news I am getting from Iran abut the election there is that the situation in Iran has started getting normal as the protests are now only confined to some areas of Tehran,” he said.
He urged the need for unity among the Iranian leaders. “What I understand is that Iranian leaders have developed differences over the post election situation. “The issue should be resolved peacefully through dialogue”, Irfan Siddiqui opined.
“The difference of opinion among Iranian leaders can destabilize Iran”, he said.
He was of the view that the Iranian post-election situation would have a negative effect on the region which is already passing through a difficult time.
“Afghanistan and Pakistan are already engaged in war and China and India too would not be happy over the situation of Iran”, he added
