FM: Iraq Seeks To Assume Its Natural Position In The Region And The World

Baghdad / NINA / -Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed Iraq's endeavor to assume its natural position in the region and the world, while pointing to Iraq's firm position on the Palestinian issue.

 The Ministry stated in a statement, “The Minister gave a lecture at the International Diplomatic Academy in Vienna entitled (Middle East 2024...Challenges and Opportunities),” in the presence of the Academy’s President (Emil Brix), a number of diplomatic and political figures, Iraqi students studying in Vienna, and a number of researchers in the Middle East affairs.

 He pointed to "the development of the democratic process in Iraq and the recent local council elections, and Iraq's endeavor to assume its natural position in the region and the international community," pointing out that "Iraq's position is firm on the Palestinian issue, which emphasizes the necessity of stopping this war, which has begun to expand and threaten the entire region. The matter of which will not be in the interest of any regional or international party, as wars were never a solution, and therefore this war must be controlled and stopped as quickly as possible.”

 He explained, “The economic situation and plans prepared to build a diversified economy that does not depend on the rentier economy by creating different industries and restoring the agricultural sector and gas production to rely on Iraqi competencies and manpower in producing electricity and investing in infrastructure.”/End
