AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Bahrain Take on Malaysia on Saturday

Doha, January 19 (QNA) - Bahrain will face Malaysia on Saturday in matchday 2 of Group E of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
    Bahrain kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Korea Republic while Malaysia were beaten 4-0 by Jordan, the AFC website reported.
    Bahrain are undefeated in their last eight encounters with Malaysia (W5 D3), including a 2-1 win during qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2023; though, this will be their first meeting in the competition proper.
    Bahrain have failed to win in their seven games on Matchday One of the AFC Asian Cup.
    Malaysia have lost four back-to-back games in the AFC Asian Cup, being outscored 1-16.
    Malaysia faced eight shots on target against Jordan last time out – the most shots faced against a single opponent on Matchday One of the AFC Asian Cup 2023.
    Abdullah Al Hashash's goal against Korea Republic made him the oldest player to score for Bahrain in the AFC Asian Cup at the age of 31 years and 151 days. (QNA)
