Arab World Institute Re-appoints President for 4th Term

 

Paris, December 20 (QNA) - The Arab World Institute (Institut du Monde Arabe) in Paris announced today the reappointment of Jack Lang (84 years old) as institute president for a 4th term, holding his position since 2013.
    In a statement, the institute said that the Board of Directors unanimously renewed the presidency of Jack Lang, today.
    The Arab World Institute's Board of Directors consists of seven Arab ambassadors and seven figures appointed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    Established in 1980 during the era of the late French President François Mitterrand, the Arab World Institute in Paris is a French institution concerned with cultural affairs, receiving throughout the year, writers, thinkers, and artists from all over the Arab World and Europe to present their ideas and innovations.
​     The institute is considered the most important institution for Arab-Islamic culture in France and Europe.           This cultural landmark, with a budget of EUR 30 million, seeks to develop the study of the Arab world in France, and to deepen understanding of Arab civilization and culture, and encouraging cultural exchange with the Arab world.
