National Day/ Ambassador of Finland to QNA: National Day is Renewed Opportunity for Nation-Building

Doha, December 19 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the State of Qatar Pekka Voutilainen saw Qatar's National Day as a renewed opportunity to look toward the future and actively participate in nation-building, emphasizing Qatar's current strive for openness and its commitment to expand cooperation with all countries in all fields.
In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Ambassador Voutilainen indicated that Doha has become an international hub for political dialogue, as well as cultural, trade, and sports exchange, which was embodied in the organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 standing out as a significant cultural and sporting milestone.
His Excellency highlighted Qatar's advanced relations with the international community, as Qatar actively fosters bilateral relationships with nations worldwide, becoming a proactive partner in promoting international peace and security through political, economic, developmental, and humanitarian initiatives, under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Regarding the bilateral relations between Finland and Qatar, HE Ambassador Pekka Voutilainen underscored the significance of the inauguration of Qatars Embassy in Helsinki in May as a significant step towards enhancing opportunities for cooperation and coordination between the two countries across various sectors. He particularly emphasized the potential for increased trade exchange in the coming years in light of the presence of great cooperation opportunities.
Concluding his remarks to QNA, HE the Finnish Ambassador noted the substantial influx of visitors to both countries during 2023, with expectations of further growth in the near future. He also highlighted that 2024 would mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Finland and Qatar. (QNA)
