National Day/ Senegal's Ambassador to QNA: Qatar's National Day, an Opportunity to Honor Comprehensive Renaissance that Qatar Experiencing

Doha, December 19 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the State of Qatar Dr. Mouhamed Habibou Diallo said that Qatar's National Day is a historical symbol reminding us of the solid foundations laid by the late founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani in building the nation on a path to creating achievements and glories.
In an exclusive statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE extended his warmest congratulations to the leadership, government, and people of the State of Qatar on this occasion. HE also acknowledged Qatar's remarkable political and diplomatic imprint on a global scale to establish international security and peace and contribute to solutions for complex issues with justice, courage, and strength for a better life for people worldwide.
HE noted that Qatar's National Day is an opportunity to connect the past with the present while looking towards the future. This enhances the sense of pride and identity, ensuring that the legacy of this historic day remains deeply rooted in the hearts and minds of Qatar's future generations.
His Excellency underscored Qatar's influential regional and global role in diplomacy, politics, economics, and humanitarian levels, emphasizing that this esteemed role cannot be overlooked or denied by anyone.
As an accumulation of these efforts, HE said that Qatar has become a model to be followed and admired due to its remarkable role and partnerships and the responsibility that it takes in pressing global issues. This is evident in Qatar's mediating role in the war on Gaza. HE appreciated the country's effort in reaching a humanitarian pause, alleviating the dire conditions in the Strip, de-escalating tensions, and facilitating hostage exchanges, in addition to its humanitarian contributions and urgent relief under the directives of its wise leadership towards the many political and humanitarian crises in the region, natural disasters and other issues that are troubling the international community, which are praised globally.
In a related context, HE the Senegalese Ambassador highlighted Qatar's status as a hotspot for hosting global activities or events in the local, regional, or international arena. Qatar is now considered an international meeting spot for people through events, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions. HE mentioned the ongoing International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha which emphasizes the importance of combating desertification, climate change and encourages sustainable agricultural production. Expo 2023 Doha also opened doors for discussions and experience exchange. Additionally, other important events held by Qatar are the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), the Doha Forum, and last year's dazzling FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
HE Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal Dr. Mouhamed Habibou Diallo praised the distinguished and longstanding relations between the Republic of Senegal and the State of Qatar, spanning half a century. He noted that these relations have directly contributed to consolidating cooperation between Doha and Dakar to achieve the interests of both nations, solidifying their bilateral ties and the unity of vision in both countries the rapprochement between the leaderships of the two countries on many files and issues, as well as high-level visits between officials to discuss various issues and topics of interest, and the signing of a number of agreements.
On a similar note, HE the Ambassador referred to HE President Macky Sall's attendance at the opening of the World Cup last year and the Doha Forum recently, and Senegals celebration of its National Day on December 10 at the headquarters of Expo Doha 2023, with the participation of a number of Their Excellencies the ministers and officials of the State of Qatar, affirming their common interest in developing the two countries bilateral relations in various fields.
HE the Ambassador emphasized the noticeable development in political relations between Qatar and Senegal, marked by mutual coordination in regional and international arenas concerning shared interests. HE particularly acknowledged the joint efforts of both nations during HE President Macky Sall's chairmanship of the African Union in 2022-2023.
HE said that Senegal's participation in Expo 2023 Doha, with a special pavilion, showcases its expertise in horticulture and handicrafts. Additionally, Senegal aims to learn from other participating countries and explore new avenues for investment and promotion of its products, establishing business partnerships between the public and private sectors as part of its activities.
