Qatari Newspapers Editorials
Doha, December 18 (QNA) - Today's Qatari Newspapers highlighted several topics, including HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Sunday offered his condolences to HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the yesterday's death of HH the Late Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Kuwait.
The papers also shed light on the State's National Day commemorated on December 18 each year. As this day dawns, the beloved State of Qatar is steadfastly moving towards attaining its strategic goals, achieving inclusive sustainable development and maintaining its international standing. The State of Qatar is gaining a prominent position among countries and pursuing its process of growth and development at all levels with the aim of building a society of knowledge, sustainable development and positive participation, affirming its national identity as well as retaining the stable values of its heritage, principles and culture.
The newspapers also covered the launch of the Palestine Duty relief campaign by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in Qatar (RACA).
From its part, Al-Watan newspaper, titled its editorial Big in Stature, whereby HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani offered on Sunday his condolences to HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the death of HH the Late Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Kuwait. HH the Amir also offered condolences to Their Highnesses and Excellencies members of the ruling family and ranking officials, asking His Almighty Allah so he may bestow upon the deceased his unlimited mercy and embrace his soul in his vast paradise.
The newspaper added that Kuwait held yesterday the funeral of HH Late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, one of its loyal men who contributed over the decades to making its history, building its glory and honoring its flag. His Highness followed Kuwait’s approach with respect to its relations with its Arab brothers, reflected in a keenness to constructively cooperate with Arab leaders in all Arab related issues to solve the problems facing the Arab nation, in particular the prioritized Palestinian issue.
With regards to relations with the countries of the world, His Highness also stuck with Kuwait’s usual approach of respecting states' sovereignty and non-interfering in their internal affairs.
Al-Watan paper concluded by stating that the Arab countries bid farewell to HH late Amir of Kuwait with widespread statements of condolences and declarations of mourning, reflecting the great status His Highness enjoyed as well as the high status of Kuwait among its sisterly and friendly countries, thanks to the benevolent roles it has always played and the tireless efforts to maintain international peace and security.
On the other hand, Al-Sharq newspaper spoke in its editorial titled Qatar on its National Day, Pride and Solidarity with Palestine, about the launch of the Palestine Duty relief campaign by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in Qatar to collect donations from citizens and residents in aid of the Palestinians affected by the aggression on the Gaza Strip. This is where national pride is combined with human solidarity mirroring an image of a homeland at its best depictions. Hence, this year's National Day is a unique moment in which the feelings of pride, loyalty and patriotism blend with those of solidarity with the Palestinian peoples.
The newspaper regarded the benevolent humanitarian initiative, which starts at Katara, Souq Waqif and Darb AL Saai as clear and frank illustration of Qatar's solidarity with the Palestinian people, in particular the inhabitants of Gaza who are enduring hardships due the Israeli aggression, which reflects the firm commitment of Qataris to the Palestinians.
Al-Sharq newspaper clarified that from the outset of the aggression of Gaza, Qatar - Government and People - has shown its full support to the Palestinian people, to send again a profound message of solidarity between the Qatari and Palestinian peoples, by launching a relief campaign bearing the burden of the pain and resilience of the Palestinians, to unite Qatar's hand with Gaza's hand to hold the torch of hope and peace.
The newspaper concluded its editorial by pointing out that starting the Palestine Duty campaign at the National Day is an exceptional moment in history, in which the State of Qatar confirms that it does not stand aloof from the suffering of our brothers in Palestine. Rather, it joins forces of solidarity, reminding the world of the necessity of standing by the weak and oppressed, and confirming that it is inspired by the values of the founder, in its national occasions.
Al-Raya for its part said that Qatar, under visionary leadership inspired by its founder's vision, has made monumental strides in its development. It noted that Qatar has become a hub for humanitarian work and mediation, earning significant international respect and appreciation for its contributions to providing political solutions to global crises. Qatar has successfully navigated regional and international crises, ensuring their resolution.
At the national level, it said that Qatar has achieved much of its Qatar National Vision 2030, where humans are the central driving force. The citizens have rightfully earned pride in the accomplishments attained through enlightened construction, growth, and development. Qatar has presented the world with an impressive model of a remarkable civilizational leap, earning international acclaim and praise.
The paper concluded by saying that the people of Qatar, following in the footsteps of their early ancestors, are inspired by the determination instilled by the wise leadership that laid the foundation of the modern state. Qatar reaps the fruits of achievements and the wise leadership that has vowed to maintain its esteemed position and remain at the forefront of civilization, tirelessly serving the causes of its people and nation, soaring freely with the spirit of loyalists among its citizens who rallied around their wise leadership, painting a beautiful canvas of devotion and love for this blessed land.
Meanwhile, The Peninsula, in its editorial today, regarded the National Day as an opportunity to focus on the nation's core values, a day to draw inspiration from the past, celebrate the present, and look towards the future.
