Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism's Executive Office Holds 33rd Meeting in Doha

Doha, December 13 (QNA) - The Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism's Executive Office held Wednesday in Doha its 33rd meeting, in preparation for the Ministerial Council meeting on Thursday, in the presence of Their Excellencies Arab Ministers of Tourism.
The meeting discussed a range of topics, most notably supporting the Palestinian economy in the field of tourism, The International Code for the Protection of Tourists (ICPT) in the Middle East, boosting the quality of education and training in the region, developing joint regional tourism products, supporting and developing inter-Arab tourism cooperation, and promoting the Arab tourist consumer culture.
It also deliberated ways to activate joint tourism work, the comprehensiveness of contemporary Arab tourist destinations, climate change impact on tourism, the organization of forums to stimulate tourism, and the assessment of the capitals nominated for the Arab Tourism Capital for the year 2024.
Head of Communications at the Qatar Tourism, Dr. Buthaina Mohammed Al Janahi stressed the State of Qatar’s keenness to enhance joint cooperation with Arab countries to support its presence on the global tourism map, and to promote the region as an attractive tourist destination, with many components that qualify it to lead the sector.
She indicated that the 33rd Executive Office meeting comes within the framework of following up and implementing the recommendations of the 32nd meeting, in a bid to submit new proposals and initiatives that contribute to improving and developing the Arab tourism field.
Doha was named Arab Tourism Capital for 2023 at the 25th session of Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, which was held at the Arab League General Secretariat HQ. (QNA)
