AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: QNA Adorned with Hayya Asia Ahead of Eagerly Anticipated Event

Doha, December 11 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) premises has been adorned with the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 official slogan Hayya Asia as well as a banner of the trophy of the continent's most prestigious men's tournament, with nearly a month to go to the widely anticipated event.

The slogan in both Arabic and English is mounting to the side of the QNA building and it could be seen from all sides, as a message of welcome for fans from all over Asia who are expected in the State of Qatar from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10, 2024.

Doha's streets, towers, and buildings, especially in the prominent Dafna area, are decorated with bright-colored slogans, photos and flags of the 24 competing countries. The event's official mascots: Saboog, Tmbki, Freha, Zkriti and Traeneh - the re-tuned version of the family of five desert rodents from the 2011 edition, the second edition to be hosted by Qatar, through an anime-inspired animation.

Qatar seeks to produce an exceptional AFC tournament following a record-breaking FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that dazzled the world and showed the country's powerful potential.

Set to be staged on nine World Cup venues, the tournament will see women referees working games for the first time as well as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology from the kickoff till the finale.

Reigning champions Qatar, competing in Group A, will take on Lebanon in the opener. The group also includes China and Tajikistan. The rest competing teams are divided as follows: Group B: Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria, and India.

Group C: Iran, the UAE, Hong Kong and Palestine.

Group D: Japan, Indonesia, Iraq, and Vietnam.

Group E: South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan, and Bahrain.

Group F: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, and Oman. (QNA)
