New Batches Of Relief And Medical Supplies Sent To Gaza
Baghdad / NINA / -The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahia Rasool, announced today, Thursday, that new batches of Iraqi aid will be sent to Gaza, while indicating that coordination is underway with the Egyptian authorities regarding it. He said, according to the official agency: “The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, formed a committee headed by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Human Rights, and includes representatives of the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Interior, and the Air Defense Command, as well as other units that work within the Air Defense Command.” He explained, "The committee held several meetings and established the mechanism for delivering relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip," noting that "coordination is underway with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Egyptian authorities, since relief aid arrives at Al-Arish International Airport and then enters through the Egyptian Red Crescent." He added: "3 batches of relief and medical materials were sent via Iraqi Air Force aircraft," noting that "the committee is working continuously and there will be other batches in the coming days that will arrive at Al-Arish Airport in preparation for their delivery to the Gaza Strip." For his part, Assistant Director of Media for the Popular Mobilization Forces, Muhannad Hussein, confirmed that “the Center for the Union of Strategic Experts held a special session on the Palestinian issue in general and the Gaza issue, which is exposed to the ugliest forms of terrorism through the Zionist entity,” indicating that “it is part of our legitimate, fraternal and humanitarian responsibility support the Palestinian cause.
