Azerbaijan`s Mammadyarov ranks 2nd at Aimchess Rapid preliminary stage

Baku, October 17, AZERTAC Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov has ranked 2nd with 23 points at the preliminaries of the Aimchess Rapid tournament after twelve rounds of play. Mammadyarov collected two wins, one lost and a draw in Rounds 9-12. The Aimchess Rapid tournament is the last "regular" in the 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour before the end-of-season final event that starts on November 14. Aimchess Rapid features 16 players in a round-robin prelim stage before the field is cut to eight and knockouts begin.
