Mottaki terms Zionist regime as a decaying system

Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki described the Zionist Regime as a decaying entity which was moving fast downward.

Talking to reporters upon arrival in Damascus Airport on Saturday, he said the Zionist regime was presently passing through the worst phase of its life and was suffering from the outcomes of its defeats in Lebanon and Gaza wars.

Terming as important the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, he said the present sensitive situation both in the world and the region added to the significance of the meeting.

Referring to the visits of the new Zionist government and other world political figures to the regional countries, the Iranian foreign minister said it was a must for Islamic states to further consolidate unity and solidarity among themselves to confront new challenges.

He further welcomed the presidency of Syria in the OIC foreign ministerial meeting and said it served materialization of unity among Muslim nations.

Pointing out that the OIC was established after the Muslim world bitterly witnessed the torching of Aqsa Mosque to support the Palestinian nation, he said opposing Zionist policies and supporting the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation was the focal point of the OIC meeting in Syria.

Mottaki also said Iran and Syria were two key players in the region, cooperation between whom would pave the way for solving regional problems.
