The construction of a trade centre called “ Hanoi ” in Sverdlovsk province

Hanoi (VNA) – The construction of a trade centre called “ Hanoi ” in
Sverdlovsk province, Russia , is expected to be inaugurated in December to
mark the 1,000th birthday of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The nine-storey centre is being built by the Tagansky Ryad Corporation at a cost
of 30 million USD. Four stories of the building will be used for offices,
restaurants and services and the rest as apartment space.

Viktor Testov, a leader of the Tagansky Ryad Business and Service Consortium which
has closely attached with the Vietnamese community in Russia , expressed his
admiration at the Vietnamese people’s hardworking and self-motivation.

“I myself have visited Vietnam several times and loved Hanoi ’s landscape
and people. We were impressed with the flying dragon and the history of 1,000
years of Thang Long,” said Viktor Testov.

Vietnamese traders are expected to move to the Hanoi Trade Centre in early 2010 on
the occasion of celebration of the Thang Long-Hanoi millennium, according to
Tagansky Ryad executive board.

Thang Long-Ha Noi came into being in the Autumn of 1010 with King Ly Thai To’s
Edict on the Transfer of the Capital. Being one of the most ancient capitals in
Southeast Asia , this imperial land boasts a continual historic millennium
through the Ly, Tran and Le, etc., dynasties to modern Vietnam.-Enditem
