Foreign Ministry summons Turkmen ambassador to Tehran
Turkmen Ambassador to Tehran Ahmed Qurbanov was summoned to the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
Following numerous complaints by Iranian nationals who were mistreated by Turkmen border guards at the country's customs, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Turkmen ambassador to lodge an official protest.
Foreign Ministry's Director general for Iranian nationals' affairs Mohammad Javad Rasouli summoned the Turkmen ambassador to voice Iran's concern about the situation.
At the meeting, the Turkmen ambassador vowed to convey Iran's protest at the earliest to his country's officials.
Turkmen border guards at the country's customs or border checkpoints have mistreated Iranian nationals, insulted and beaten them up, confiscated some 66 trucks and refused judiciary cooperation with Iran.
