UN Security Council condemns terrorist attacks in Iraq

The United Nations Security Council in a statement on Saturday strongly condemned terrorist attacks in Kazemain and Diala in Iraq in which many Iranian pilgrims were killed or injured.

The Security Council also extended its condolences to the victims' families and called for the trial of the perpetrators of the crime.
It also called for an international multilateral campaign against such terrorist attacks 'which are threatening peace and security'.
The statement stressed that such terrorist actions cannot deter Iraqi government and people from building peace, democracy and their country; an effort which is supported by the international community.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon had already issued another statement to condemn the terrorist attacks in Iraq.
In two suicide attacks in Diala and Kazemain in Iraq, on Thursday and Friday, 68 Iranian pilgrims were martyred and tens of others were wounded.
