Erbakan: Expansion of Iran-Turkey ties will benefit humanity
Former Turkish prime minister Necmettin Erbakan said here Saturday that all-out expansion of ties between Iran and Turkey will be beneficial both for the Middle East and human prosperity.
He made the remarks at a news conference after returning from a ten-day visit to Iran.
He further noted that the outcome of his meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials can be summed up in three phrases: 'upgrading Iran-Turkey ties to best level', 'helping the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East', 'efforts to help humanity get rid of racism'.
"Iran and Turkey, as two brotherly countries, should help establish the Islamic Group 'D60' in cooperation with Muslim countries as well as 'D100' to promote welfare in poor countries," he said.
Lauding Iran's hospitability, Erbakan expressed pleasure over the friendly reception accorded to him by Iranian officials.
