Yemeni president calls for developing cooperation with Iran

Riyadh, Feb 22, IRNA - Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh stressed the need to broaden economic and commercial ties with Iran.

In a meeting with visiting Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah, he
referred to the significance of the Eighth Joint Economic and Commerce
Commission Meeting and called for implementation of agreements signed
earlier by the two countries.

Describing Iran's role as undeniable in the region and Islamic world,
Saleh underlined the leading part Iran plays in maintaining regional
peace and stability.

Fattah, for his part, conveyed President Ahmadinejad's greetings to
Saleh and stressed the significance of developing bilateral ties.

"The two countries have considerable potentials for expanding economic
cooperation, the materialization of which depends on regular talks by
officials," Fattah said.

The Eighth Economic and Commerce Commission session began on Saturday
to discuss ways to develop economic and commercial cooperation between
the two nations.

Fattah arrived in Sana'a on Saturday at the head of an economic and
commercial delegation
