Jaafari Hails Spain's Role In Holding International Conference On Victims Of Religious And Ethnic Violence

BAGHDAD, Iraq (NINA) - Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari praised Spain's role in holding and organizing the international conference on victims of religious and ethnic violence in the Middle East held in Madrid. "Spain has been successful in holding the international conference on the victims of religious and ethnic violence in the Middle East," Jaafari said according to a statement of the ministry of the foreign affairs. "I hope that this step will continue and to be followed up so that its decisions can be applied well." All speeches were organized around one thing, which is condemnation of Daesh and support the countries affected, especially Iraq because it is in the front line as the conference was a broad view of Iraq on the international position towards the rejection of terrorism, with about 80 people participated in the conference and contributed to the maturity of the speech against Daesh. He pointed out that "there is a growing international understanding and growing awareness of these countries expressed by supporting the countries affected by terrorism, and Iraq has become a country calculated in the field of construction, challenge and counter terrorism, noting that Nineveh was one of three large provinces in the grip of Daesh, which are Salahuddin, Anbar and Nineveh. We have liberated Salahuddin and Anbar. Adding that only 10% of the city of Mosul remains, and we have given it extra time because Daesh gangs use civilians as human shields. " "We are thinking about the post-liberation phase of Mosul, which is rebuilding the damaged infrastructure," he said, adding that "the victories achieved were an expression of three facts: the unified of the Iraqi political speech of all parties, movements and the unity of the entire Iraqi armed force from the army, police, Peshmerga, anti-terrorist forces, the sympathy of the international situation, the international coalition and the assistance that has come to us, including Spain. " As for NATO's joining the international coalition to fight Daesh, he said: "We are dealing with all countries that help us to eliminate Daesh, whether in the international coalition, or outside the international coalition like China, Iran, NATO also invited me and I attended with them and delivered a speech and were very interactive and I thank them all for their support for Iraq. As for the Iraqi minorities, the foreign minister said: "The minorities in Iraq enjoy full freedom. They are the original sons of Iraq living in different provinces, and they are represented in the parliament and the government, and we do not need to provide evidence of this, nor suffer harassment from the government, and are present in all of the state institutions. " He added: "The minorities and all Iraqis have been harmed by the terrorist gangs, so all Iraqis have come up against it. Christians and Yezidis are working in the armed forces and the popular mobilization forces to defend the country and defend themselves as part of the Iraqi situation." On the other hand, al-Jaafari described what the British city of Manchester has suffered from terrorist attacks: "It is not a new operation, and it is as it happened in France, America and elsewhere. Terrorism is one and the places are different. What happened in this city is evidence that Daesh aims to kill the human being anywhere. Calling for the need to investigate the suspicious elements that exist abroad, these do not belong to Islam and that Islam is away from them./ End
