Hong Kong keen on boosting ties with Iran

Beijing, Feb 8, IRNA - Chief Executive and head of Government of Hong Kong told IRNA on
Sunday that Hong Kong is keen on expansion of cooperation with Iran.

Donald Tsang made the remarks attending a ceremony on the occasion of
the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution held at Iran?s
Consulate in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Referring to the long-lasting ties between Tehran and Hong Kong, Tsang
said the recent visit by the Hong Kong delegation to Iran was a step
forward to mutual cooperation.

Later, he extended his congratulations to the Iranian nation and
government on the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution took
place in 1979.

Iran?s Consul in Hong Kong Abdollah Nekounam outlined the scientific,
economic and political achievements, nuclear program, in particular,
the Iranians gained during the 30 years after victory of the Islamic
Revolution.

Nekounam hoped Tehran-Hong Kong cooperation would promote in 2009.

A number of economic and political officials of Hong Kong as well as
diplomats, merchants, media staff, academics, Muslims and Iranians
residing in Honk Kong were present at the ceremony.
