Larijani says aid can be sent to Gaza via Jordan

Tehran, Jan 10, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that regional countries can send their humanitarian aid to Gaza through Jordan.

Upon his return home, Larijani told reporters at Mehrabad Airport that
he held talks with the world and Asian leaders on Gaza to make them
get familiarized with wide scope of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.

Talking about the outcome of the talks with his Jordanian counterpart
Abdel Hadi al-Majali, Larijani said: ?The way has been paved for
sending aid supplies to the Gaza Strip via Jordan and the Jordanian
emergency relief aid has been dispatched to Gaza through International
Red Crescent so far.?

He added that a proposal was made in the meeting for sending letters
to the Latin American states and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)
members to help resolve the Gaza crisis immediately.

Larijani also said that Asian troika including Iran, Indonesia and
Syria has sent letters about Gaza to Egypt?s Embassies in those
countries waiting for their quick response.

He stressed the need to hold consultations with the world countries on
ways to save people in Gaza from further tragedy.
