Bahraini re-elected Arab IGF Advisory Committee member

Manama, June 22 (BNA): Bahrain Internet Society (BIS)'s Board member and Director of Strategic Alliances, Ali Al Meshal, secured Bahrain a membership in the Advisory Committee of the Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF) for the 2nd consecutive year. Al Meshal was informed and congratulated for his reelection by the Secretariat of the Arab IGF as board member of the Arab IGF Advisory Committee in its new assembly for the year 2015. Initially, the applications’ assessment and election process are held by the Secretariat of the Arab IGF in collaboration and coordination with the umbrella organisations represented by the Arab League and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). On this occasion, the Arab IGF’s Secretariat congratulated Al Meshal for his continuous efforts and interest in participating to support the Forum’s activities via his work in its Advisory Committee. BIS expressed its sincere congratulations to Al Meshal on his reappointment in the IGF Advisory Committee and wished him all the success in his future efforts with the advisory committee. Moreover, BIS supports AL Meshal’s and the Advisory Committee’s efforts. as it has always shown support for all its members’ efforts and the efforts of the IGF, particularly in the area of e-Governance, and other latest Internet and Communication Technology (ICT) issues on all levels; regionally and internationally, due to their cross global effects and impact with the clear developments taking place in the type of e-content being disseminated across the various worldwide Internet sites. Al Meshal highlighted BIS role in participating in the activities of relevant international organisations and in organising and attending local, regional and international conferences and forums in its sincere efforts to enforce its vision and accomplish its objectives and aspirations to expand the Bahrain’s role and activities on the global map in the matters of e-Governance, ICT, Internet, the development of e-content and other related developments and the emergence of the latest different electronic applications that serve progress and development in the different walks of life and business locally, regionally and internationally.
