House Speaker Calls UN Security Council And The International Community To Stand By Iraq And Relieve Its People Suffering

BAGHDAD / NINA / House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri called on the UN Security Council and the international community to stand by Iraq and relieve the suffering of its people. A parliamentary source quoted al-Jubouri as saying, during a meeting the President of the UN Security Council for the current session, Ramlan Bin Ibrahim that "Iraqis are fighting the ISIS organization (Daash) defending Iraq and the world, as this risk of this terrorist organization is no longer locally, but the possibility of its expansion became improbable at any moment. ". He called on "the international community and the Security Council to stand with Iraq in its war against this organization," stressing that "Iraq's Sunnis have nothing to do with ISIS and they would like to fight it if provide them with the true support and backing." Jubouri called the UN Security Council to stand by Iraq and relieve the suffering of its displaced people through the United Nations agencies specialized with humanitarian crises side," warned at the same time of the "risk of widespread frustration and refraction in the ranks of the displaced and loose hope in the international community, which may make some of them to swear allegiance to (Daash) or accept to live under its control after the despair of international aid. ". He also called "The Security Council to urge Iraq's neighbors to be more assertive in preventing Daash elements from infiltrating into Iraq and take the necessary action in this regard.". The head of the House of Representatives, Salim al-Jubouri arrived yesterday to New York City to follow up his talks about the dangers of terrorism and the occupation of Daash to important parts of Iraq, in addition to Iraqi displaced file and the need to provide support and shelter for them. / End
