Power transmission line connecting Xeset I is being installed
(KPL) The installation of a 115 Kw-electricity transmission line from Xeset I hydropower plant to Nadonekhaung village, Saravan district was kicked off this month.
The span from the dam to the station in Nadonekhaung is 25 km. The installation costing over US$ 5 million is expected to complete in 2010.
The installation is being carried out by the Beijing Power Engineering Company, China, with a financial grant from the World Bank. Ceremony to open the installation was held on 16 December, witnessed by Governor of Saravan province, Mr. Khamboun Douangpanya.
This project is aimed to provide sufficient power supply to ethnic people in the province and to expand the national power grid of the Electricite du Lao to cover Xekong and Savannakhet provinces.
