Smuggler arrested, drug seized

Manama, June 4 (BNA): The Air Ports Customs Directorate and the Anti-narcotics Directorate have foiled and attempt to smuggle 2 kilos of a substance suspected to be heroin. Customs officers referred a foreign traveler, who drew suspicions, to the red lane, and searched him which enable to seize the drug which was hidden in eight plastic bags inside two wooden sticks in a wooden box. Air Ports Customs director said that the suspect and the seized drugs were referred to the Anti-narcotics Directorate for legal proceedings. "The case will be referred to the Public Prosecution on completing legal formalities", he added. (MOI – Police Media Centre).
