US-Iran nuclear deal on Camp David agenda

Manama, Apr.21 (BNA): The upcoming nuclear agreement between the US and Iran will be on the agenda of the Camp David meeting, Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa said. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he said that all the aspects of the nuclear deal would be discussed thoroughly at the meeting which will be held at the call of the US President Barack Obama. He revealed that that the meeting had been arranged long ago, adding that the region would enter an important phase. The minister stressed the importance of the upcoming nuclear agreement, welcoming any deal which serves the interests of all Arabian Gulf states, strengthens security and stability and steers the region away from the specter of war. "We are looking forward to establishing good relations with Iran, which is a neighbouring country", the minister said. He announced that Manama would soon host a key meeting on combating the scourge of terrorism which is spreading its tentacles and controlling a lot of funding sources in the world. "Manama has been chosen to host the meeting owing to its developed financial legislations and pivotal standing an acknowledged regional financial hub", he said. The minister stressed the crucial importance of maintaining security and stability in Yemen, which would have a direct impact on the Arabian Peninsula and the whole region as a whole. Commenting on the ceasefire which was announced today, he said that all parties are seeking a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, stressing the importance of restoring normalcy there. Regarding the call to convene a meeting in Riyadh, the minister said that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) had announced their initiative which aims at restoring security and stability in Yemen and consolidating national partnership and peace under the UN umbrella.
