Finance Minister participates in international meetings

Washington, Apr. 20 (BNA): Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participated in both meetings of the "Development Committee" and the "International Monetary and Financial Affairs Committee", on the side-lines of the springtime meetings the Council of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. In the statement delivered by the minister on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, UAE and Yemen, he said that the post-2015 development agenda constitute a good opportunity to build on the progress accomplished on the Millennium Development Goals. Nevertheless, global economic revival remains unbalanced and highly risky which could hamper growth and reduces investors' confidence, therefore, to boost comprehensive economic growth and to create new job opportunities, efforts should be mustered through a strategic policy which clearly defines the roles of multilateral development banks, international financial institutions and governments.
