Ho Chi Minh City int’l food festival packs in crowds

Ho Chi Minh City, December 9 (VNA) - More than 200,000 visitors flocked to the ninth international food festival “Taste of the world 2014” which took place in Ho Chi Minh City from December 4-7, according to the municipal Tourism Department. Dishes from 21 countries and territories were put up for tasting at the event. Also helping draw the crowds was a contest with the participation of head-chefs from 17 local five-star hotels and an event in which pastry artisans got together to make 51 types of cakes, setting a new Vietnam record. Sidelines activities included artistic performances and sport contest, adding to the festive atmosphere.-VNA
