Lebanese resistance, pattern for regional states: president

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday evening that the Lebanese resistance to Israeli regime is an appropriate pattern for all regional nations.

He made the remark in a meeting with the former president of Lebanon Emile Lahoud who is on a visit to Tehran.

He voiced Iran's support for the Lebanese resistance movement, reiterating that the Islamic Republic has supported the Lebanese nation in the most difficult time.

Since the enemy of the Lebanese nation has become weak, it can be easily defeated through unity and solidarity of the Lebanese people, the Iranian president said.

He underscored the need for promotion of regional economic status through all-out cooperation among regional countries.

Briefing Ahmadinejad on the latest developments in his country, Lahoud appreciated Iran's warm hospitality during his stay in Tehran.

Referring to Tehran-Beirut amicable ties, he said the Lebanese leaders have always been determined to boost all-out cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He lauded the vigilance of the Lebanese nation vis-a-vis the conspiracies of the Zionist regime.

Lahoud reiterated that future belongs to independent and peace loving nations./end
