The Head of children Nephrology at Hamad Hospital, Dr. Abdullah Al-Kaabi said that the preparation for the first kidney transplant for child in the Hamad Medical Corporation took nearly six months of screening, treatment and follow-up protocols within the framework of a world standard integrated programme. The child Alaa is currently enjoying normal kidney function following the transplant, after years of suffering from kidney failure, Dr. Al-Kaabi said adding that her condition is regularly followed at the outpatient clinic.
