Qatar to Host Family and Environment Workshop

Doha, December 19 (QNA) - Doha will be hosting next Tuesday a two-day workshop on the role of family in environmental awareness at GCC countries. Held under the auspices of the Minister of Environment, HE Abdullah Bin Mubarak Bin Iabboud Al Moudadi, the workshop will gather some 18 environment experts of the GCC and some 30 experts of Qatar. The workshop aims at exchanging experiences related to family and environment within the GCC countries, developing research activities, offering training to those in charge of family and environment issues, as well as providing member countries with the needed technical support to develop programs related to family and environment. The event will also tackle ways of enhancing the potentials of women of the gulf to protect the environment and will feature the experiences of the GCC to raise awareness on the environment. This workshop comes in collaboration between the GCC general secretariat and as a part of a five-year plan by GCC countries to boost the role of family in environmental awareness. It mainly targets all family-related institutions and non- governmental organizations. (QNA)
