HE the Qatar Attorney General Meets UK Officials

London, December 18 (QNA) - HE the Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri - in his capacity as UN Special Advocate for Stolen Asset Recovery - conferred with Foreign Office Minister for Middle East and North Africa Alistair Burt. During the meeting, Al Marri, who is paying a visit to the United Kingdom, exchanged views with Burt on future joint action with the United Kingdom, which will assume the presidency of the Group of Eight (G8) in 2013. They also discussed ways and means of follow-up to the outcomes of the Arab Forum on Asset Recovery held in Doha two months ago, and reviewed issues of mutual interest. HE the Attorney General also met Minister of State at the Home Office Jeremy Browne, who and his team from various government agencies are in charge of recovering the looted money. Al Marri heard during the meeting the steps and efforts taken by the United Kingdom to recover the looted money. The two sides discussed in this context areas in which they can cooperate during the UK's G8 presidency. (QNA)
