Ceremony to Honor Partners in COP18/CMP8
Doha, December 17 (QNA) - The Doha Sheraton Hotel hosted on Monday evening a ceremony to honor those who contributed to the success of the 18th session of the United Nations climate change conference COP18/CMP8 held from 26 November to 7 December.
The ceremony was attended by HE COP18/CMP8 Chairman Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah and a number of ministers and senior officials in the country.
Al Attiyah in a speech at the ceremony extended his thanks to all the members of the organizing committee and to HE the Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani, HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul-Aziz Al Kuwari, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, and HE the Minister of Environment Abdullah bin Mubarak Bin Ebood Al Maadadi.
Al Attiya also thanked Qatar Foundation, the Public Works Authority "Ashghal", Qatar Airways, Qatar TV, Al Jazeera Network and Qatar News Agency. During the celebration, certificates of appreciation were handed to those institutions which had contributed to the success of the conference.
HE Abdul Aziz bin Ahmad al-Maliki, COP18 general coordinator and head of the organizing executive committee, delivered a speech in which he stressed that the conference was a success, thanks to the enormous efforts made by the partners, as well as the assistance and support provided by the various sectors in the State of Qatar.
