HH the Emir Al Wakra Hospital Opening Shows Keenness on Development: HE Health Minister

Doha, December 12 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khaled Al Qahtani who is also Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) on Wednesday said the opening of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Al Wakra Hospital reflects his due keenness on following up with significant achievements in the development path, which HH exceptionally leads in all aspects of life in Qatar. HE the minister said Qatar National Vision 2030, and the preparations that followed for the first National Development Strategy in Qatar, and the incentive and momentum it initiated to move forward in developing the National Health Strategy 2011 2016, form the path that guides the country through its comprehensive development, which entails the need for expanding high-quality health services for all residents. He pointed out that the last few years have seen the opening of several high-level service health projects such as Al Khor Hospital and the Cuban Hospital, noting that the opening of Al Wakra Hospital will help ease the pressure on Hamad General Hospital (HGH). Commenting on the opening of Al Wakra Hospital, SCH General Secretary Assistant for Administration Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Khulaifi said it is another step on the health renaissance path Qatar has been witnessing over the past few years in all domains, adding that the new hospital will contribute to the development of therapeutic services offered for citizens and residents alike. Earlier today, HH the Emir was then briefed on the medical services at the hospital, before touring a number of the hospital's departments and units. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers in addition to dignitaries and officials of the health sector in the country. (QNA)
