HE Qatari Premier and FM Calls for Supporting Syrian National Coalition

Marrakech, Morocco, December 12 (QNA) -HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani, has called for the full recognition of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposing Forces as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people. HE affirmed meantime that the coalition has already proved it is a real and legitimate representative of the Syrian people and the legitimate alternative of the current regime. This came in the speech HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister delivered Wednesday before the fourth meeting of the "Friends of the Syrian People" group which began in the Moroccan city of Marrakech, earlier today. HE the Qatari senior official further said that the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposing Forces is entrusted with assuming power ad running the transitional period /in Syria/. HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani further said," What is now needed more is to support the coalition materially and morally noting however that such a meeting has its special and exceptional significance since it is being convened in a time the Syrian people were about to complete their victory and realizing their legitimate aspirations. The Qatari senior official went on to say that the Syrian opposition ,by its civil and military wings, has already been unified , discarded their secondary and marginal differences and raised to the level of its national responsibility in addition to the international community has become more thoughtful and supportive of the demands of the Syrian people . Elaborating HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister further said that the battle of the Syrian people against killing, repression and destruction is about to finish and come to an end in the interest of the Syrian people following which they would start their battle for establishing the new era. HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani has underlined the importance of national unity and forming a wide government absorbing the all and establishing a real democracy that does not differentiate between a citizen and the other and that the homeland is for all and through the all. HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani leads his country's delegation to the fourth meeting of the "Friends of the Syrian People" group. Delegations representing 120 countries in addition to other representatives of a number of regional and international organizations are attending the Fourth Meeting of the Group of Friends of Syrian People in addition to the United Nations which attends it for the first time which kicks off in Marrakech earlier today. The meeting followed three previous meetings held in each of Tunis on February 24, 2012, Istanbul on April first and then Paris on July 06, 2012 respectively. The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, or the Syrian National Coalition, formed earlier in November during a conference in Doha, Qatar, has been calling for increased international support, including military material for opposition forces battling the regime of Bashar Assad in Syria for nearly two years. The U.S., European countries and other GCC and Arab countries declared their recognition of the new Syrian opposition coalition as the "legitimate representative" of the Syrian people. (QNA)
