Tunisia's Prime Minister Meets Chairman of QInvest and QIB

Tunis, December 11 (QNA) - Tunisia's interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali conferred today with HE Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Islamic Investment Bank (QInvest) and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB). The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Tunisia Saad bin Nasser Al-Humaidi and members of the accompanying delegation. Chairman of Tunisian businessmen in Qatar Noureddine Zekri, who attended the meeting, said that the two sides discussed ways to boost cooperation between the Tunisian government and the Qatari banks in finance and infrastructure domains through the issuance of dollar-denominated Islamic bonds. He said the talks also addressed a funding by the two Qatari banks to a number of government projects, particularly in the fields of real estate and Islamic finance in addition to the possibility of opening branches of QInvest and QIB in Tunisia in order to access the African financial markets.
