Sixth Schools Olympic Program Continues

Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Arwa and Al-Wakrah independent schools for girls booked their places in the Table-Tennis final of the sixth Schools Olympic Program 2012-2013 following their deserving victories on Sunday. Arwa school team confidently defeated Al-Arqam school in the first semifinals encounter, as Al-Wakrah outclassed the M.E.S Indian School in the second playoff. In Sunday's program, some 48 female students representing 16 schools competed in the table-tennis event (teams). In the handball events for boys primary schools held at Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyiah Hall at Al-Sadd sports club, Omar bin Khattab school (2) outclassed Ummsaieed 5-0, Al-Shamal school defeat Umm Slal 10-0 and Al-Falah thrashed Newton 5-0. In the volleyball events for boys secondary schools held in different sport Halls on Sunday, Omar bin Khattab school defeated the Commerce school 2-0, Birla public School outclassed Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Attiyiah 2-1 and Al-Andalus thrashed Iranian school 2-1. The Schools Olympic Program's tennis event for girls U- 10 year will get underway at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Monday. The sixth Schools Olympic Program (SOP) is jointly organised by the Olympic Committee (QOC), the Supreme Education Council (SEC) and Enterprise Qatar. (QNA)
