Chairman of Qatar Football Association Meets Bahraini Senior Sports Official

Doha, November 21 (QNA) - Qatar Football Association (QFA) President HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, conferred here on Wednesday with Abdulrahman Sadeq Askar , the Director of the Youth and Sports Affairs at the Bahraini General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS) and member of the organising committee of 2013 Gulf Cup. During the meeting, Asker handed HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani an invitation addressed to HH the heir apparent sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, who is also chairman of Qatar Olympic committee (QOC) and a similar invitation addressed to HH sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani, their personal representative of HH the Emir in addition to other invitations addressed to the (QFA) President to attend the 2013 Gulf Cup, which Bahrain hosts on Jan.05-18, 2013. Abdulrahman Sadeq Askar has affirmed that Bahrain is fully prepared to host the 2013 Gulf Cup, the region's top football tournament ....All preparations are on track and underlined the due keenness of the higher organizing committee, under sheikh Nasser bin Hamad al Khalifa, the GOYS) president to give prominence to such a gulf sports event realizing the aspirations of the gulf region. For his part, QFA President HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, welcomed the invitation to attend 2013 Gulf Cup and lauded the strenuous and mammoth efforts Bahrain has been exerting to host such a gulf sports event and stressed the importance of the Arab gulf cup and its effective contribution to further flourish and football in the cooperation council for the Arab states of the gulf (GCC) member states plus Iraq and Yemen.
