New Website Unveiled by Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics

Doha, November 18 (QNA) - The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, held an event today to launch the center's website ( www.cilecenter.org). A large number of scholars, researchers, scientists, and students attended the launch. Also, thousands of people from different parts of the world watched the launch through live streaming on the Center's website, in three languages; Arabic, English, and French. Professor Tariq Ramadan, CILE Director, talked about the philosophy and objectives of the center and its importance for the renewal of the contemporary Islamic thought and Applied Ethics in general. His Deputy Director, Dr. Jasser Auda, demonstrated to the audience how the visitors of the website could benefit from the academic research on ethics, as well as the advantage of building networks and partnerships with an objective to restore ethics back to the center of interest in various professions and in Islamic thought in particular. The attendants showed great interest in Islamic Applied Ethics, in various fields of research and professions, especially when the floor was open for their questions to both Prof. Ramadan and Dr. Auda.
