Croatian President Invites Qatari Businessmen and Private Sector to Invest in Croatia
Doha, November 13 (QNA) - Croatian President Ivo Josipovic has invited the Qatari businessmen and private sector to invest in his country and benefit from the investment opportunities available there in the fields of energy, tourism and infrastructure.
This invitation came in President Josipovic's speech before the Qatari-Croatian Business Forum organized by Qatar's Chamber of Commerce and Industry(QCCI) here Tuesday , in the presence of Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Radimir Cacic, HE President of QCCI Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani and the president of Croatian chamber of Economy Nadan Vidosevic.
President Josipovic said that the relationship between Qatar and Croatia is growing, especially after the opening of the embassy of his country in Doha, which forms a new chapter of fruitful cooperation between the two countries. He added that the forum will help strengthen cooperation between Qatar and Croatia and open up new areas for a genuine partnership between businessmen in the two countries, especially in the field of energy.
He stressed that his country will work to remove anything that might be an obstacle to the Qatari private sector, pointing out that Croatian companies are also interested in investing in Qatar. "Some of them have already opened branches in the State of Qatar," he added.
The Croatian President considered that holding an economic forum in Zagreb in conjunction with the opening of the Islamic Center to be launched there next spring, could represent an important step for the two countries in the direction of strengthening their trade and investment relations.
For his part, HE the president of QCCI Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani , stressed that President Ivo Josipovic's honoring to the forum gives the latter special importance and represents a real beginning of effective and positive business relations, especially that Qatar has a favorable investment climate that made it one of the most attractive countries for foreign investment in the region.
He added that the development of the Qatari market wide opens the doors for international companies to benefit from the comprehensive evolution that has brought "Qatar" this position, thanks to the policy pursued by its wise leadership.
HE the president of QCCI called for studying the establishment of joint ventures utilizing the capabilities of both countries to serve in the interests of them.
Meanwhile Croatian Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Economy Radimir Cacic, said that the indicators of the progress made by Qatar during the past few years, are evident in the infrastructure and urban development witnessed by Doha.
He asserted that his country is looking forward to establish various investments and partnerships in different fields, especially, energy and electricity, rail ways, tourism and sports facilities, noting that his country is the world eighth electricity importer, which shows the possibility of long-term investments in this market.
Face-to-face working sessions were open between about 70 business people from both the Qatari and the Croatian sides to discuss the best and most efficient ways to get access to the investment opportunities in both countries.(END)
