Deputy Premier and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Meets Chad's, Sudan's and UK Officials
Doha, November 13 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud , met separately here on Tuesday with Moussa Faki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration of the Republic of Chad, Dr. Al-Tigani Al-Sessi , the Chairman of the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority, who is also head of the Liberation and Justice Movement( LJM), Dr. Amin Hassan Omar, the Sudanese Presidency State Minister who is also Head of the Darfur Follow-Up Peace Office and Robin Gwen , the British special envoy for Sudan and South Sudan.
Talks during these separate meetings,the current situation in darfur and the peace process there in light of the outcomes of the 4th meeting of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) Joint Commission which met in Doha earlier Monday.
The preparations underway for convening the doha international conference on the reconstruction and development in darfur were also taken up .
The meetings were attended by a number of officials at the cabinet's general secretariat .
It is noted that the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) Joint Commission held its second meeting on 15 October ,2012 in Khartoum. The meeting was chaired by the African Union-United Nations Acting Joint Special Representative and Joint Chief Mediator a.i., Ms. Aichatou S. Mindaoudou, and was attended by the signatories to the DDPD, the Government of Sudan (GoS) and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) and the State of Qatar, the Arab League and the European Union as Members of the Commission. China and Canada attended as Observers, while Norway regretted its inability to attend.(QNA)
