Qatari Premier : "We Support Syrian People with All Strength"
Cairo, November 12 (QNA) - Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani has underlined that the Arab League Council at the level of Foreign Ministers recognized the National Coalition for the forces of the revolution and the Syrian opposition as the legitimate representative, denying any conflict or dispute between the Arab League and the GCC positions in this regard.
HE the Premier and Foreign Minister was speaking In a joint press conference with the Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, and Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour who is also president of the Arab Ministerial council, at the conclusion of the Arab Ministerial extraordinary meeting held here today.
HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim said: "We will support the Syrian people with all our strength," explaining that this support will be in the legal framework through provision of humanitarian aid to the Syrian people and what it need to defend itself".
On the proposal of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on sending Arab troops for peacekeeping purposes in Syria, HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said: , "This proposal was intended mainly to send Arab troops to maintain security and peace and the separation between the two parties in Syria and to stop bloodshed there , "explaining that the Arabs must think in this direction in the future by taking advantage of the experience of the African Union, which is based on such an idea for resolving disputes.
On the Palestinian issue, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, stressed the importance of continuing efforts to rally international support for the Palestinian request on November 29 for the status of the state is a full member UN, revealing continuing intensive contacts with the United States and European parties, whether by the State of Qatar or from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to urge these parties to support this request.
With regard to Sudan, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said that the Arab Ministerial council agreed to form an Arab committee to study the legal and strategic position on the Israeli aggression on al Yarmouk plant pointing out that this came "in a series of frequent attacks on Sudan by Israel, which does not respect the international legitimacy. The Committee will present the results of its findings to the next meeting of the Arab League Ministerial council in order to be referred to the next Arab summit, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister added.
